Vier Nederlanders aan de start tijdens 12 uur van Bathurst

Aanstaande zaterdag en zondag staat de Australische International Endurace Race gepland, de 12 uur van Bathurst. Robin Frijns won deze race in 2018, maar hij verdedigt de zege komend weekend niet.

Voor Nederland zullen Yelmer Buurman, Nick Catsburg, Jeroen Bleekemolen en Mathijs Bakker aan de start staan. Verder kent het startveld een aantal voormalig Formule 1-coureurs met Markus Winkelhock (Spyker), Ivan Capelli (March en Ferrari) en Pedro Lamy (Lotus en Minardi).

Buurman rijdt samen met Mark Griffith en Christina Nielsen in de #19 Mercedes AMG GT3 van het Black Falcon-team. Catsburg zal samen met Christian Matias Krognes en Mikkel Jensen de #34 BMW M6 GT3 van Walkenhorst Motorsport besturen. Bleekemolen rijdt samen met voormalig Le Mans-winnaar Marc Lieb en Tim Prappas in de #540 Porsche 911 GT3-R van Black Swan Racing. Bakker deelt de #96 Marc 1 van MARC Cars Australia met Einar Thorsen en Hadrian Morral.

De grootste verrassing op de startlijst is Paul Tracy. De voormalig ChampCar-kampioen en huidige NBC-commentator zal met Supercars-coureur Anton de Pasquale, Paul Morris en Keith Kassulke de Marc 2 V8 besturen. Deze inschrijving van MARC Cars Australia heeft startnummer 91.

Heerlijke baan hoor dit. Hier met F1 wagens gaan rijden gaat een gekkenhuis worden. Dat midden gedeelte is zo moeilijk. Ook na het eerste rechte stuk moet je 100% erbij zijn.
