MP Motorsport verzekert zich van diensten Schott

Patrick Schott is de nieuwste aanwinst van MP Motorsport voor het komende seizoen in het NEZ F4 en het Spaans F4-kampioenschap. De jonge Zwitser maakt de stap vanuit de kartsport om met het Nederlandse team zijn debuut te maken in de autosport.

Schott nam voornamelijk deel in de Zwitserse nationale kartkampioenschappen voordat hij besloot om de stap te zetten naar de eenzitters. De jonge Zwitser voegt zich bij MP bij de Zweed Isac Blomqvist, die in februari al een contract overeenkwam met het team uit Westmaas.

"Ik ben heel blij dat ik in het seizoen 2018 mag uitkomen voor zo'n ervaren en succesvol team als MP Motorsport", aldus Schott. "Het is een team dat in de Formule 4 kampioenschappen op zijn naam heeft gezet en me dus het beste in staat zal stellen om mijn talenten te demonstreren."

"Klausen Racing steunt graag de carrière van Patrick, met het doel om hem aan de top van de Zwitserse autosport te krijgen", aldus Schotts manager François Frigola.

"Ik heet Patrick van harte welkom in ons Formule 4-team", zei Sander Dorsman, teammanager van MP Motorsport. "Zijn snelheid in de karts was veelbelovend, we zetten zijn talent graag om in een succesvolle carrière in de eenzitters. Ik weet zeker dat hij goed zal samenwerken met Isac en kijk ernaar uit om met beiden aan de slag te gaan."

Schott behaalde de tweede plaats in het Zwitserse kartkampioenschap van 2015. In 2014 werd hij derde in het KF3-kampioenschap van het land. Hij maakte ook zijn opwachting in de WSK Euroseries en het Italiaanse kampioenschap. Schott testte al een Formule Renault 2.0-auto alvorens te besluiten zijn autosportdebuut te maken in de Formule 4.
