Dillmann op pole voor race 2 Spa-Francorchamps

AVF-coureur Tom Dillmann start de tweede race van het Formule V8-weekend op Spa-Francorchamps vanaf de eerste startplaats. De Fransman was 0,016 seconde sneller dan Lotus-coureur Roy Nissany. Beitske Visser start de tweede race vanaf een dertiende plaats.

De verschillen waren klein in de kwalificatie: Beitske Visser kwalificeerde zich weliswaar slechts als dertiende, maar was maar iets meer dan een seconde langzamer dan de snelste tijd.

Dillmann gokte in de kwalificatie op een afstelling met veel neerwaartse druk. De kwalificatie werd onder droge omstandigheden verreden, maar de kans op regen tijdens de race ligt op 90 procent.

Achter Dillmann en Nissany start Aurelien Panis de race als derde, zijn tijd zat ook nog binnen een tiende van de snelste tijd. De winnaar van race 1, Egor Orudzhev kende een dramatische kwalificatie. De Rus zal de race als laatste starten omdat zijn auto stilviel met een technisch probleem.

Matthieu Vaxiviere, de inhaalkoning van race 1, zal de race als vierde aanvangen. De Fransman stond lange tijd op pole, maar viel uiteindelijk terug. Vitor Baptista en Louis Deletraz sluiten aan op de derde rij.

Force India-testcoureur Alfonso Celis Jr, Rene Binder, Matevos Isaakyan en Pietro Fittipaldi maken de top tien compleet. De resultaten van de kwalificatie zijn nog onder voorbehoud: diverse coureurs moeten zich nog verantwoorden bij de wedstrijdleiding voor het mogelijk negeren van gele vlaggen.

De race, die waarschijnlijk onder natte omstandigheden wordt verreden, begint vanmiddag om 16:00 uur.
