Nissany slaat dubbelslag op Silverstone, Visser tiende

Voorafgaand aan het weekend op Silverstone had Roy Nissany nog nooit een Formule V8 3.5-wedstrijd op zijn naam geschreven, maar in Groot-Brittannië was het dan ook meteen twee keer raak voor de Israëliër.

Bij de start verloor pole-sitter Matthieu Vaxiviere een aantal posities, en dat opende de weg voor Lotus-teamgenoten Nissany en Rene Binder vooraan. In de tweede ronde kwam ook Egor Orudzhev voorbij aan Vaxiviere, niet veel later deed Aurelien Panis hetzelfde. De pitstops zorgden ervoor dat de Fransman nog verder terugviel en uiteindelijk zelfs als zevende over de streep zou komen.

Nissany reed makkelijk weg bij teamgenoot Binder en pakte zo zijn tweede zege. Achter Binder werd Orudzhev derde, terwijl Tom Dillmann laat in de race voorbij ging aan Panis voor de vierde positie. Beitske Visser passeerde in de laatste ronde Alfonso Celis jr. voor de tiende plaats, en pakte zo één puntje.
