Fenestraz verbetert het ronderecord

Sacha Fenestraz heeft op de slotdag van de Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup-test op de Nürburgring de beste tijd laten noteren. De jonge Fransman klokte een 1:54.356 en dat betekende een nieuw Formule Renault 2.0-ronderecord op het circuit in de Duitse Eifel.

Hij was ruim drie tienden sneller dan naaste belager Will Palmer, terwijl Max Defourny met een 1:54.804 beslag legde op de derde plaats. Richard Verschoor was op de tiende plek de beste Nederlander, hij gaf met een 1:55.346 bijna een seconde toe op Fenestraz.

Die tijden werden allemaal voor de lunchpauze neergezet. In de middagsessie ging het een tikkeltje minder hard. Verschoor was 's middags de snelste met een 1:55.611. De persoonlijk beste tijd van Jarno Opmeer was een 1:55.999 en daarmee viel hij buiten de top twintig.
