Verschoor: "Ik ga hard voor mezelf zijn"

Richard Verschoor scoorde in zijn eerste races in de Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup twee keer punten, maar de jonge Nederlander wil meer dan zevende of tiende plaatsen. Het talent uit de opleiding van Red Bull krijgt komend weekend op Silverstone een nieuwe kans.

Verschoor: "Dit wordt heel anders dan Monza. Het gaat op Silverstone meer om racen, minder om slipstreamen. Ik hoop dichter bij de snelle mannen te zitten, ga enorm pushen en hard voor mezelf zijn. Ik moet meer naar mezelf kijken. Het moet van mij komen, niet van verbeteringen aan de auto. Ik moet het op de baan laten zien."

"We hebben er in de winter twee dagen getest, dus ik heb een aardig idee. Bovendien heb ik het circuit gereden in de simulator. Dat helpt om het circuit te leren kennen, al moet je het natuurlijk uiteindelijk op de baan doen. Je kan geweldig werk doen in de simulator, maar op het circuit heel slecht zijn. Dus aan mijn werk in de simulator denk ik niet te veel."
