Langere Formule Renault-races in 2018

De races in de Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup duren volgend seizoen vijf minuten langer dan op dit moment het geval is. Dat heeft organisator Renault aangekondigd. Nu duren de wedstrijden nog 25 minuten plus een ronde, vanaf 2018 is dat 30 minuten plus een ronde.

De lengte van de trainingen en kwalificaties blijft gelijk. Renault liet meteen weten dat de kalender ook volgend jaar zal bestaan uit tien ontmoetingen, met twee races per weekend. De exacte invulling van het schema wordt op een later tijdstip bekendgemaakt.

Renault-directeur Cyril Abiteboul: "De Formule Renault Eurocup is een uitstekende leerschool voor jonge coureurs. Met dank aan de synergie die we gecreëerd hebben met Renault Sport Racing kunnen we in deze categorie de sterren van de toekomst detecteren."
