Verschoor kijkt bij test niet naar tijden

Richard Verschoor kwam op de eerste dag van de tweedaagse Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup-test op het circuit van Paul Ricard aardig voor de dag. In de ochtendsessie liet hij de tweede tijd noteren, na de lunchpauze bivakkeerde hij in de subtop. Maar de tijden zijn nu nog niet belangrijk, benadrukt de 16-jarige Nederlander.

Verschoor: "Het was een goede dag, maar jammer genoeg gingen we een beetje te vroeg de baan op om te profiteren van de ideale omstandigheden. Ik zette ook een paarse sector neer in mijn in-lap. Dat is natuurlijk niet ideaal! Hoe dan ook, dit is slechts testen en het zegt niet zoveel om bovenaan het tijdenlijstje te eindigen."

"Ik gaf de voorkeur aan het gevoel en veel coureurs gebruikten minstens twee setjes nieuwe banden per sessie, terwijl wij maar één setje nieuwe banden per sessie hebben gebruikt. Ik ontdek ook een nieuwe omgeving bij Josef Kaufmann Racing. Vergeleken met vorig jaar heb ik veel progressie gemaakt en nu voel ik me veel meer op mijn gemak in de auto."

"We zullen zien hoe het op de tweede dag gaat." Tot nu toe doet Verschoor het goed op die tweede dag, want na één uur testen was het talent uit de Red Bull-opleiding de snelste.
