Verschoor derde bij test in Hockenheim

Richard Verschoor heeft bij de Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup-test op de Hockenheimring de derde tijd neergezet. De jonge Nederlander, dit seizoen uitkomend voor Josef Kaufmann Racing, noteerde een tijd van 1:37.094. Daarmee eindigde hij op minder dan een tiende van de snelste man.

Die luisterde naar de naam Yifei Ye, teamgenoot van Verschoor bij Josef Kaufmann Racing en talent uit de Renault-opleiding. De Chinees snelde in Hockenheim naar een 1:37.004. Victor Martins wurmde zich tussen de twee Josef Kaufmann Racing-coureurs in op een tweede plaats.

      Heb eerder het idee dat RBR Dan Ticktum al had voorgesorteerd. Dr. Marko heeft m niet voor niets terug laten komen na een vrij lange schorsing. Hij had alleen vergelijkingsmateriaal en daarvoor werden Verschoor en Verhagen opgesteld en uiteindelijk bedankt.

      Het is gewoon een nieuwe tactiek van Marco, om jongens die niet gemotiveerd genoeg zijn er uit te gooien. Dan past beseffen die gasten in wat voor unieke situatie zij zaten. Het is aan hun om zich weer in de kijker van Marko te rijden. Het heeft totaal niets met talent of druk te maken, maar eerder met de instelling van de betreffende coureur.

      Correctie, Dan Ticktum is in januari 2017 na zijn schorsing opnieuw aan het RBR team toegevoegd, tot zijn schorsing 2015 was hij ook deel van de renstal, maar toen kwam die schorsing na een flinke ruzie in de F4 met Ricky Collard.

      Je kunt nog zo'n groot talent zijn, maar als er iets niet schort aan je instelling dan is Marko genadeloos. En gelijk heeft hij. Als je ziet wat er door RB allemaal geregeld wordt voor hun talenten. Tja, en daar moet nu eenmaal resultaat tegenover staan. Heel begrijpelijk allemaal.

    Hij is inderdaad een groot talent, maar met zoveel dingen moet alles wel op zijn plaats vallen.

    Naar mijn idee zit Verschoor nu wel bij een topteam, Josef Kaufmann Racing werd vorig jaar kampioen met Fenestraz. MP motorsport was in 2017 nieuw in de Formule Renault 2.0 en misschien heeft dit toch invloed gehad op de prestaties van Verschoor. 2018 zal hoe dan ook een belangrijk jaar voor hem worden.
