De laatste dag uit de voorbereiding van de Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup op het seizoen 2018 heeft een snelste tijd voor Max Fewtrell opgeleverd. De jonge Brit uit de opleiding van Renault klokte op de Nürburgring, waar het weer wederom te wensen overliet, naar een 1:54.939.

Hij was de enige die onder de 1:55 dook. Rookie Logan Sargeant noteerde met een 1:55.088 de tweede tijd, terwijl Josef Kaufmann Racing-duo Yifei Ye (1:55.185) en Richard Verschoor (1:55.304) beslag legde op posities drie en vier. Verschoor heeft tijdens de tests niet het achterste van de tong laten zien, verklaarde hij na afloop van de laatste testdag.

"Dit waren slechts de tests, ik ben deze winter zeker nog niet tot het uiterste gegaan. Volgende week gooit iedereen zijn kaarten op tafel en ik denk dat de pikorde er dan totaal anders uit zal zien. Ik voel me zeer op mijn gemak bij mijn nieuwe team en de samenwerking met de monteurs, mijn engineer en mijn teamgenoten verloopt soepel. Vorig jaar beleefde ik niet het beste seizoen uit mijn carrière, maar ik heb nu meer vertrouwen in een goede afloop en ik zal alles geven", aldus de Nederlander.

Het nieuwe Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup-seizoen gaat van 13 tot en met 15 april van start met een weekend op het circuit van Paul Ricard.
