Toekomst Russian Time gewaarborgd dankzij iSport

Russian Time staat dit jaar gewoon op de grid in de GP2 en GP3. Dat meldt Sky Sports. De toekomst van de Russische renstal stond even ter discussie door een breuk met partner Motopark, maar het lijkt erop dat iSport terugkeert in het voorprogramma van de Formule 1 om de wagens van Russian Time te prepareren en te runnen.

Motopark forceerde een breuk met Russian Time na het overlijden van de bevlogen Russian Time-teambaas Igor Mazepa. Motopark-teambaas Timo Rumpfkeil: "Het was altijd het doel van Igor en Motopark om Russian Time in de top van de GP2 te manifesteren. Met de titel voor teams in 2013 slaagden we met glans in die opzet. Omdat dat nu niet meer mogelijk lijkt gaan Motopark en Russian Time uit elkaar."

Volgens Sky Sports is Russian Time volop in onderhandeling met andere partners en op Twitter valt de naam van iSport opvallend vaak. Opmerkelijk, aangezien Russian Time vorig jaar de GP2-licentie van iSport overnam. Wat er met de reeds gecontracteerde coureurs voor 2014 gaat gebeuren is nog niet duidelijk.
