Mecachrome op rand van faillissement

Motorenbouwer Mecachrome gaat door een moeilijke periode. Het Canadase bedrijf was in het verleden leverancier van Formule 1-motoren en werkt nu exclusief met Renault samen en verzorgt de GP2-krachtbronnen. De financiële crisis eist echter ook bij Mecachrome zijn tol.

De firma klopte al voor bescherming aan bij de Companies Creditor Protection Act, dat in Canada betrokken is bij bankroetprocedures. Mecachrome-president Christian Jacqmin: Ons doel is om Mecachrome draaiende te houden voor al de betrokkenen, de werknemers, klanten en leveranciers. De industrie staat onder druk en wij zijn op dit moment niet in staat om genoeg kapitaal te genereren door de marktomstandigheden.
