Hülkenberg op pole, Van der Garde zesde

Nico Hülkenberg heeft zichzelf bij zijn GP2-debuut in de Asia Series meteen op pole position gezet. Op het circuit van Bahrein was hij meer dan een tiende sneller dan zijn naaste belagers. Het DAMS-duo Jerome dAmbrosio en Kamui Kobayshi start race 1 als tweede en derde.

Giedo van der Garde nestelde zich net als bij de vorige ronde in Dubai in de subtop. De Nederlander, uitkomend voor iSport International, noteerde de zesde tijd. Ocean Racing-coureur Yelmer Buurman kwalificeerde zich als vijftiende.
