Financiële problemen kosten Durango plek voor 2010

Durango doet niet mee aan het GP2-seizoen 2010, waardoor het veld volgend jaar uit 24 autos bestaat. De Italiaanse renstal kampt met financiële problemen, miste al de laatste twee evenementen van 2009 en neemt ook niet deel aan de Asia Series.

GP2-organisator Bruno Michael liet aan Autosport weten: Op dit moment ziet het ernaar uit dat ze de grid van 2010 niet halen. We staan open voor oplossingen, maar die lijken niet in de maak. Het heeft geen nut om een nieuw team toe te laten, aangezien we voor 2011 weer een nieuwe selectieronde hebben. En tegenover de huidige teams zou het niet eerlijk zijn om een nieuwkomer meteen een plek voor 2011 te beloven.
