Leal voor Cecotto en Marciello in training op Spa

Julian Leal heeft de snelste tijd laten noteren in de GP2-training op het circuit van Spa-Francorchamps. De Carlin-coureur dook met een 1:57.877 als enige onder de 1:58. Johnny Cecotto gaf anderhalve tiende toe en Raffaele Marciello completeert de top drie.

Thuisrijder Stoffel Vandoorne schaarde zich bij de beste zes. Kampioenschapleider Jolyon Palmer kwam niet verder dan de twaalfde positie, maar dat is nog altijd voor concurrent Felipe Nasr. Daniel de Jong wist de achterhoede niet te ontstijgen, de Nederlander legde beslag op P23. De sessie lag nog kortstondig stil omdat Stefano Coletti na een spin strandde in bocht 14.
