Lynn pakt overwinning in eerste GP2-race Hongarije

Alex Lynn heeft de eerste GP2-race op de Hungaroring op zijn naam geschreven. De Brit vertrok vanaf pole position en reed een ijzersterke race op weg naar de overwinning. Pierre Gasly zorgde voor feest bij DAMS door als tweede over de streep te komen, Sergey Sirotkin werd derde na een straf voor Stoffel Vandoorne.

Vandoorne kwam aanvankelijk als derde over de finish, maar de Belg kreeg een tijdstraf van vijf seconden nadat hij Julian Leal zou hebben gehinderd na zijn pitsstop. Deze verliep al niet soepel voor Vandoorne, want de monteurs hadden erg veel tijd nodig om zijn banden te wisselen.

Voor Daniel de Jong gaat de GP2-hoofdrace van Hongarije de boeken in als de eerste race van 2015 waarin hij punten scoorde. De Nederlander vertrok als zestiende aan de race en eindigde na een race zonder problemen als tiende.

Morgen wordt de sprintrace verreden.

Eindelijk een off day voor Vandoorne, maar dan is Rossi compleet uit beeld om er het maximale er uit te halen. Dus een off day en nog uitlopen is wel lekker voor Vandoorne. Maar voor mij mag het voor het kapioenschap wel iets spannender en dan mag Stoffel hem wel gewoon winnen.
