De Jong zesde op laatste dag in Barcelona

Daniël de Jong heeft zich op de slotdag van de GP2-test op Circuit de Catalunya nabij Barcelona van zijn beste kant laten zien. De Nederlander zette een 1:27.977 als persoonlijk beste tijd neer en uiteindelijk gingen maar vijf man sneller dan de MP Motorsport-coureur.

Snelste van allemaal was andermaal Pierre Gasly van nieuwkomer Prema Racing. De Fransman uit de opleiding van Red Bull reed een 1:27.386. Prema had sowieso een uitstekende dag met Antonio Giovinazzi op de derde plek. Alleen Norman Nato wist zich tussen de teamgenoten in te wurmen.

Naast De Jong kwam er nog een Nederlander in actie. Net als gisteren testte Meindert van Buuren voor Status Grand Prix. Hij legde 54 ronden af en klokte een 1:30.007 als persoonlijk snelste tijd. Daarmee sloot hij de dag wel als hekkensluiter af.
