Matsushita mist Oostenrijk door schorsing

Nobuharu Matsushita moet de races op de Red Bull Ring noodgedwongen toekijken. De Japanner is geschorst voor zijn aandeel in de chaos bij de herstarts tijdens de sprintrace in Bakoe. De coureur van ART Grand Prix bracht met zijn manier van rijden de overige coureurs in gevaar.

Matsushita ging bij de eerste herstart in Azerbeidzjan te vroeg op het gas uit bocht 16 en haalde pardoes de safety car in. Bij de tweede herstart trapte hij op het rechte stuk plotseling op de rem en veroorzaakte zo meerdere incidenten achter hem. Diskwalificatie was aanstaande, maar een botsing met Raffaele Marciello in bocht 1 maakte al een einde aan de race voor de Japanner.

    Het gedrag van Matsushita valt niet goed te praten maar ik vind de reacties die ik op veel sites lees ook wel weer overdreven. Michael Schumacher en Vettel hebben we in het verleden ook dit soort streken uit zien halen, die werden naar mijn weten daar ook voor bestraft (echter niet met een race ban). Die jongen heeft z'n straf, hopelijk leert hij er van en kan hij de race erna weer verder.

      Was wel grappig om te zien hoe zijn collega's (die door deze actie uit vielen) juichden toen hij een paar rondes na het incident zelf ook uitviel.

      Ja Schumacher deed dat 1 keer vol op de rem staan (Monza 2000 waardoor button crashte). , maar Matsushita ging ongecontroleerd gas geven en remmen, en daar bij slingerde hij ook op de baan , en dit alles deed hij tot 2 maal toe (na elke safety car situatie ), en als klap op de vuurpijl reed ie ook in op Marciello (wat deed denken aan die Schumacher actie op Jerez )

    Heeftie nog mazzel dat het op de Red Bull-ring is, die staat garant voor optochtjes.
    Lekker een weekendje uitslapen en thuis barbequen en de Geisha uitwonen.

    Jammer dat er geen beelden bij dit artikel zitten!!!

    Wat een volslagen debiel is dit zeg....

    Iemand nog iets gezien van het ADAC F4 dan? Vergelijkbare ellende met een safety car die binnen zou komen maar dat niet deed :-)

    Het grootste probleem met Matsu-matsu is dat hij bij twee herstarts niet wist wat hij moest doen. De eerste keer ging hij vanaf bocht 16 volop het gas met Rowland en De Jong op zn staart, maar hij ging zo hard dat hij de Safetycar inhaalde. Dat mag niet en daarom remde hij weer, Rowland en De Jong verremde zich allebei, maar gelukkig ramden ze elkaar niet

    Bij de tweede was hij echt heel fout bezig. Hij bleef langzaam rijden tot de SC-lijn, maar in tegenstelling tot wat hier staat remde hij niet, hij accelereerde gewoon niet, wss omdat hij de safetycar lijn had gemist. na die lijn mag het veld inhalen, maar de ongeschreven regel is dat je de leider niet inhaalt tot ie versnelt. Gelael trok dus eerst op, zag dat Matsu-matsu dat niet deed en remt. Waardoor Malja er bovenop knalt en stuurloos door het veld schiet, Kirchhöfer een kwart van zijn auto verliest door de losse vleugel van Malja en zowel Gelael als Evans naast de baan landen. Als Matsu-matsu die race had uitgereden, was hij zeer wss gefileerd in de paddock. Maar gelukkig lostte Marciello dat probleem op.

    Conclusie: Terechte schorsing, zet Leclerc maar een race in die auto, of desnoods Ocon.

    Het hele GP2 veld was in beide races veel te onrustig en ondoordacht bezig, met name bij de herstarts. Op zo'n groene en onbekende baan met een uitzonderlijk lang recht stuk moet je ff nadenken voordat je gaat gassen. Jong enthousiasme is leuk, maar dat kan zomaar omslaan in een DNF. Je zag ook duidelijk het verschil met de F1: die zorgden er wel voor dat de SC kon blijven pitten (letterlijk)
