Sergio Perez verslaat Van der Garde in sprintrace op Spa

Sergio Perez heeft zichzelf een groot plezier gedaan in de strijd om de GP2-titel. De Mexicaan won de sprintrace op Spa-Francorchamps, terwijl kampioenschapsleider Pastor Maldonado al snel uitviel. Giedo van der Garde zorgde voor een dubbelzege bij Barwa Addax door als tweede te eindigen, gevolgd door Gonzalez.

Perez startte als tweede maar wist Roldolfo Gonzalez, die van pole position startte, direct te verschalken. Kampioenschapsleider Maldonado viel in de eerste ronde in Les Combes uit.

Drie keer kwam de safety car op de baan door diverse crashes. Christian Vietoris, Charles Pic en Jules Bianchi zorgden voor de neutralisatie momenten.
