Van der Garde snelste in eerste training in Abu Dhabi

Giedo van der Garde is het slotweekend van het GP2-seizoen goed gestart. De Barwa Addax-coureur, in beeld voor promotie naar de Formule 1 voor 2011, klokte een 1:50.600 op Yas Marina Circuit. Oliver Turvey eindigde als tweede, op bijna drie tienden.

Kampioen Pastor Maldonado sloot de sessie af op positie zestien. Nummer twee in de tussenstand, Sergio Perez, noteerde de vierde tijd. Jerome D'Ambrosio reed slechts twee ronden en heeft geen tijd achter zijn naam staan. Hetzelfde geldt voor Charles Pic.
