De GP2-nieuwkomer Team AirAsia heeft een sponsor aan zich gebonden. FXPM.com, een website waarop investeerders in valuta kunnen handelen, verbindt zich voor de GP2 Series en GP2 Asia Series aan de door Team Lotus-teambaas Tony Fernandes opgerichte renstal.

Team AirAsia-teambaas Riad Asmat: Ik ben opgewonden dat we met Team AirAsia niet alleen op weg zijn naar ons eerste GP2-seizoen, maar met FXPM.com ook onze eerste teampartner hebben weten te strikken. Het is een goed voorbeeld van hoever we in korte tijd al zijn gekomen dat we nu al commerciële partijen aantrekken die ons als het perfecte platform voor hun marketing beoordelen.
