Dillmann en Teixeira bevestigd door Rapax voor 2012

Tom Dillmann en Ricardo Teixeira verdedigen komend GP2-seizoen, dat komend weekend van start gaat in Maleisie, de eer van Rapax. Dillmann, een 22-jarige Fransman, debuteert in het voorprogramma van de Formule 1. De 27-jarige Angolees Teixeira had in 2009 al geproefd aan de GP2.

Dillmann: Ik ben verguld om tot de GP2 toe te treden. Het was niet makkelijk om er te komen, maar ik heb nooit opgegeven en stap voor stap ben ik hier gekomen. De klik tussen het team en mij is goed en ik kan niet wachten op het begin van het seizoen. Het is mijn eerste jaar bij de grote jongens, maar ik heb geen twee- of driejarenplan. Ik wil meteen competitief zijn. Ik weet hoe zwaar het is om alleen al een kans te krijgen in de GP2.

Teixeira: Ik wil het team bedanken voor mijn test in Barcelona en ik voelde me eerlijk gezegd meteen thuis bij deze renstal. Rapax is zeer professioneel en ik denk dat ik veel kan leren dit jaar. Ik weet zeker dat we samen mooie dingen kunnen presteren. Het is een geweldig gevoel om na een periode zonder racen terug te keren in deze prachtige klasse. Ik hoop dat ik mijn land trots kan maken en Angola wereldwijd kan blijven vertegenwoordigen.
