Valsecchi troeft Razia af in training, Van der Garde vijfde

Davide Valsecchi heeft in de vrije training voor de GP2 in Duitsland een klein tikje uitgedeeld aan titelconcurrent Luiz Razia. De Italiaan was met een 1:24.031 twaalf honderdsten sneller dan zijn Braziliaanse rivaal. Esteban Gutierrez legde beslag op de derde plek.

Giedo van der Garde nestelde zich met een 1:24.337 op de vijfde plaats. Nigel Melker reed de veertiende tijd. De sessie werd een tijdje onderbroken na een zware crash van Giancarlo Serenelli. De coureur van Lazarus verloor bij de exit van bocht 12 de controle over zijn wagen en vloog de bandenstapels in.
