Lotus GP hevelt Daniel Abt over naar de GP2 Series

Daniel Abt verdedigt volgend jaar opnieuw de kleuren van Lotus GP, alleen wel een niveau hoger dan afgelopen seizoen. De 20-jarige Duitser eindigde in 2012 als runner-up in het GP3-kampioenschap en wordt nu overgeheveld naar de GP2-tak. Zijn teamgenoot voor 2013 luistert naar de naam James Calado.

Abt: "Ik kan niet zeggen hoe blij ik ben met deze kans om voor het best denkbare team in de GP2 te racen. De relatie was in de GP3 al goed en de samenwerking verliep uitstekend. We legden beslag op de tweede plaats in de eindstand en het voelt als de juiste stap om het hogerop te proberen. Natuurlijk is het een uitdaging voor de coureurs en het team, maar ik ben er zeker van dat we met ons pakket mooie resultaten gaan behalen."
