GP3-kampioen Evans promoveert binnen Arden naar GP2

Mitch Evans komt komend seizoen in de GP2 uit voor Arden International. De 18-jarige Nieuw-Zeelander schreef vorig jaar de GP3-titel op zijn naam met MW Arden en maakt dus een logische stap hogerop. Zijn teamgenoot voor 2013 heet Johnny Cecotto junior.

Evans: "Ten eerste wil ik Arden bedanken voor hun geloof in mij en de kans om na twee jaar in de GP3 te promoveren naar de GP2. Ik ben ook Mark Webber, Ann Neal en iedereen achter de schermen dankbaar dat ze dit mogelijk hebben gemaakt. Ik ben vereerd met deze gelegenheid om in de GP2 te racen. Ik heb het volste vertrouwen in het team dat ze me aan een succesvol debuutseizoen zullen helpen. Ik kan niet wachten totdat het begint."
