Titelkandidaten Di Grassi en Glock winnen in Turkije

Het gevecht om de titel in de GP2 lijkt zich toe te spitsen op het duo Lucas di Grassi en Timo Glock. Door een overwinning in de hoofdrace van zaterdag nam Di Grassi kortstondig de leidende positie van zijn Duitse rivaal over. Glock nestelde zich weer aan de kop na een zege in de sprintrace. Het verschil tussen de twee is nu twee punten, de rest volgt op grote achterstand.

Voor Di Grassi betekende de zege van zaterdag ook zijn allereerste overwinning in de GP2. Giorgio Pantano en Adam Carroll maakten het podium compleet. Glock werd vierde en mocht de tweede race dus als vijfde aanvangen. Lange tijd reed de Duitser derde, totdat Kazuki Nakajima de raceleider Karun Chandhok torpedeerde. Glock kreeg de leidende positie in zijn schoot geworpen en stond die niet meer af.

Voor Ho-Pin Tung was het een redelijk succesvol weekend. De coureur met zowel een Nederlands als een Chinees paspoort evenaarde in beide races zijn beste resultaat van het seizoen. Tung werd twee keer negende.
