Eerste punten voor Ho-Pin Tung

Ho-Pin Tung heeft zijn eerste punten in de GP2 gepakt. De Nederlandse Chinees werd in de eerste race achtste en pakte daarmee al een puntje. Bijkomend voordeel was dat Tung race 2 vanaf pole position mocht aanvangen. Zijn start was in orde, maar in de eerste bocht remde de BCN Competicion-coureur te laat en verloor zodoende vier plekken. Tung vocht zich terug naar een vierde plek en mocht ruiken aan het podium, maar zover kwam het niet. De eerste vier punten zijn echter binnen.

Tung na zijn race op zondag: Alles ging goed, het was een foutloze race, behalve mijn start. In negen van de tien keer zijn mijn starts prima, dit was die ene keer. De laatste race van het seizoen, over veertien dagen in Valencia, dan moet het een podiumfinish worden!

Race 1 werd gewonnen door Nicolas Lapierre, in race 2 won Karun Chandhok zijn allereerste race in de GP2. Belangrijker voor het kampioenschap was het incident in de opwarmronde van die race. Kampioenschapleider Timo Glock werd van de baan gereden door Ricardo Risatti. Concurrent Lucas di Grassi werd derde en dichtte het gat tot twee punten.
