ART contracteert Celis jr voor komend seizoen

ART Grand Prix heeft haar eerste coureur voor het GP3-seizoen 2015 binnen. De renstal legde Alfonso Celis junior vast voor dit jaar. De 18-jarige Mexicaan testte eind 2014 al voor ART. Vorig seizoen kwam hij uit voor Status Grand Prix en scoorde hij twee puntjes in de GP3.

Celis jr: "Het doet me deugd om eindelijk aan te kondigen dat ik dit jaar voor ART zal racen. Dit is iets waar we al geruime tijd mee bezig waren en het belandde in een stroomversnelling na mijn test voor het team in Abu Dhabi. Over de kwaliteit van ART hoeven we het niet te hebben."

"Op de Formule 1-grid staan de nodige coureurs die in hun route naar de top onderdeel hebben uitgemaakt van dit team. Ik heb er alle vertrouwen in dat ik in de voorhoede mee ga doen dit jaar. Dit wordt mijn tweede seizoen in de GP3, ik ken de auto en alle circuits en dat is een voordeel."
