Ghiotto pakt eerste pole position van het seizoen

Luca Ghiotto heeft vanochtend pole position gepakt voor de eerste GP3-race van het seizoen. De Trident-coureur was ook al in de laatste trainingssessie het snelst, en wist die snelheid tijdens de kwalificatie te behouden. Ghitto zette uiteindelijk een 1:35.469 neer.

Achter de Italiaan maken Ocon, Bernstorff, Palou en Tuscher de top vijf af. Het veld lag tijdens de kwalificatie overigens erg dicht bij elkaar; Jimmi Erikksson was met een tiende plaats slechts zes tienden van een seconde langzamer dan Luca Ghiotto.

Door een spin van Antonio Fucco vlak voor het vallen van de vlag, was het voor veel rijders onmogelijk om hun snelste tijd in het laatste rondje te verbeteren. De Italiaan ging in de rondte in bocht vier, en zorgde daarmee voor een gele vlag in de eerste sector.

Vanmiddag is de eerste race in het GP3-kampioenschap. Deze begint om 17:20.
