Ghiotto wint tweede race in Bahrein

Luca Ghiotto heeft op zaterdag de tweede GP3-race in Bahrein gewonnen. De Italiaan finishte voor titelkandidaat Esteban Ocon, waardoor met nog één evenement te gaan het kampioenschap nog niet beslist is. Ghiotto leidt het kampioenschap op dit moment met twee punten. Matthew Parry wist in Bahrein uiteindelijk beslag te leggen op de derde positie.

De race werd aan het eind van de eerste ronde opgeschrikt door een zware crash van Sandy Stuvik. De Thais/Noorse coureur vloog over de achterkant van Mathéo Tuscher in de laatste bocht en raakte hard de bandenstapels. Stuvik kon ongedeerd uit zijn auto stappen, maar een rode vlag was nodig om de bandenstapel in de bocht te repareren.

Volgend weekend zijn de laatste twee races in het GP3-kampioenschap op het circuit van Abu Dhabi.
