Simon Trummer stapt over van Jenzer naar MW Arden

Simon Trummer heeft Jenzer Motorsport de rug toegekeerd. De 21-jarige Zwitserse coureur reed in 2010 het eerste seizoen van de GP3 Series voor Jenzer, maar heeft voor 2011 een contract getekend bij MW Arden, het team van Mark Webber en Christian Horner.

Trummer begin het seizoen sterk met een zesde plaats, maar zijn prestaties vielen gedurende de rest van het seizoen tegen. Enkele weken geleden testte Trummer al voor MW Arden en teammanager Julien Rouse was onder de indruk van de Zwitser. "Hij is een jonge, talentvolle coureur die goed overweg kon met iedereen in het team. We waren allemaal erg onder de indruk van zijn snelheid op alle testdagen en we zijn er zeker van dat we met hem volgend jaar vooraan kunnen meestrijden in de GP3."

Trummer vertelde: "Het is een privilege voor mij dat ik volgend jaar voor MW Arden mag rijden. Tijdens de testdagen in Estoril en Jerez verliep de samenwerking met het team al uitstekend. Het is een professioneel team en ze hebben oog voor de kleinste details."

MW Arden eindigde in 2010 als negende in het kampioenschap.
