Hubert racet ook in 2018 voor ART Grand Prix

ART Grand Prix heeft het contract van coureur Anthoine Hubert verlengd. Daardoor maakt de 21-jarige Fransman komend seizoen weer onderdeel uit van het GP3-veld. In zijn debuutjaar in deze klasse in 2017 behaalde hij vier podiumplekken en verzamelde hij in totaal 123 punten, goed voor een vierde plaats in het kampioenschap.

Hubert: "Na een doortastende integratie in het team in 2017 is een gevoel blijven hangen dat ik nog iets af te maken heb in de GP3. Ik ben vastberaden om de vorig jaar opgedane ervaring dit seizoen in de praktijk te brengen en mijn doel om een gooi naar de titel te doen te verwezenlijken. Dat is ook wat het team wil en ik ben hen dankbaar voor het vertrouwen. Ik wil ook mijn partners bedanken, zonder hen zou dit niet mogelijk zijn. Voor 2018 zet ik mijn zinnen op het kampioenschap."

Sebastien Philippe van ART Grand Prix: "Anthoine heeft een significant eerste jaar in de GP3 achter de rug. Hij is een getalenteerde en toegewijde coureur die nu over alle middelen beschikt om zijn naam aan de lijst met GP3-winnaars toe te voegen. Hij kent de circuits, heeft ervaring met de auto en werkt goed samen met het team. De ervaren coureurs deelden vorig jaar al complimenten aan hem uit en voor komend seizoen behoort hij absoluut tot de titelkandidaten."

ART Grand Prix was vorig jaar oppermachtig in de GP3. De rijders van de renstal legden in de eindstand beslag op de eerste vier posities; kampioen George Russell, runner-up Jack Aitken, nummer drie Nirei Fukuzumi en de als vierde geklasseerde Hubert.

Met Hubert is de line-up van ART Grand Prix voor de GP3 compleet. Eerder legde het team al Callum Ilott, Jake Hughes en Nikita Mazepin vast voor 2018. Russell en Aitken zijn door ART Grand Prix doorgeschoven naar de Formule 2.
