Arden contracteert Gabriel Aubry voor 2018

Arden Motorsport heeft Gabriel Aubry vastgelegd als een van de coureurs voor het komende GP3-seizoen. Aubry is afkomstig uit de Formule Renault 2.0 Eurocup. De 19-jarige Fransman won daarin vorig jaar drie races en stond in totaal acht keer op het podium. Hij sloot het seizoen af op een vijfde plaats in het kampioenschap.

Aubry: "Ik ben trots om bij Arden Motorsport de GP3 in te stromen. Arden is een van de meest succesvolle teams in de eenzitters van de afgelopen twintig jaar en ze zijn zeer gemotiveerd voor 2018. Dit is duidelijk een stap omhoog voor mij na twee seizoenen in de Formule Renault 2.0. Ik voeg me bij een ervaren team en ik ben ervan overtuigd dat ik veel zal leren bij Arden. Ik wil mijn sponsors Van Merksteijn, Intersig en MEP en mijn managementbureau The Grid Agency bedanken."

Arden-teammanager Richard Dent: "Gabriel staat al enige tijd op onze radar. Hij heeft een sterk seizoen in de Formule Renault 2.0 achter de rug en presteerde goed bij de GP3-test in Abu Dhabi aan het einde van het jaar. Hij beschikt ontegenzeggelijk over de vaardigheden, gedrevenheid en focus om in 2018 een gooi te doen naar de GP3-titel."
