Carlin contracteert Star Mazda-kampioen Conor Daly

Conor Daly zal komend seizoen racen voor Carlin in de GP3 Series, zo werd vandaag bekend gemaakt. De zoon van voormalig Formule 1- en IndyCar-coureur Derek Daly testte afgelopen winter al voor Carlin. Vorig jaar werd hij kampioen in de Star Mazda-klasse.

"Ik ben blij dat ik deel uit kan maken van Carlin in de GP3", vertelde Daly. "Dit team heeft een geweldige reputatie in Europa en ik weet dat ik in goede handen ben. De GP3 zal een grote uitdaging voor me vormen. De meeste circuits zijn nieuw voor me, maar ik denk dat ik met het advies en de hulp van het team alle ingrediënten in handen heb om succesvol te zijn."

Carlin-teambaas Trevor Carlin vertelde: "Hij heeft in Amerika laten zien over geweldig veel talent te beschikken en we waren erg onder de indruk van hem tijdens de wintertests. Dit seizoen zal desondanks een moeilijk leerjaar voor hem worden, maar hij heeft het talent en de houding om alle uitdagingen om te zetten in succes."
