Nigel Melker snelst in tweede vrije training Istanbul

Nigel Melker heeft zojuist in de tweede vrije training van de GP3 Series op Istanbul Park de snelste tijd gereden. De Nederlander was de allersnelste in een spannende sessie, waarbij de eerste vier coureurs slechts één tiende van elkaar eindigden.

Er waren veel positiewisselingen aan de kop van het veld, maar Melker was de enige coureur die telkens weer de eerste positie over wist te nemen. Uiteindelijk was hij 0.031 seconden sneller dan Lewis Williamson van Arden International. Teamgenoot Mitch Evans eindigde 0.054 seconden achter Melker als derde, terwijl Andrea Caldarelli de vierde tijd reed. Rio Haryanto, Michael Christensen, Antonio Felix da Costa en Alexander Sims completeerden de top acht.
