Kiss wint tweede race, Melker tweede en leidt kampioenschap

Tamas Pal Kiss heeft zijn eerste GP3-overwinning behaald. Kiss leidde de tweede race in Barcelona van start tot finish, met Melker die tweede eindigde, en hiermee de leiding in het kampioenschap uit wist te breiden.

Melker startte vanaf de derde positie en wist op het rechte stuk direct de tweede positie van Dean Smith af te pakken. Beide coureurs lagen hierna de gehele race op P2 en P3. Tijdens de start vond er op de startgrid een startcrash plaats. Diverse coureurs bleven staan waarbij er achterin het veld achterop de voorgangers werd geklapt. De safety car moest het veld enkele ronden door de pitstraat leiden.
