17-jarige Amerikaanse coureur maakt overstap naar GP3 Series

Ethan Ringel zal komend seizoen uitkomen in de GP3 Series, zo bevestigde Atech CRS. Het team dat dit jaar onderaan in het kampioenschap eindigde heeft de 17-jarige Amerikaanse coureur aangetrokken voor 2012.

"In tegenstelling tot de meeste Amerikaanse coureurs was het nooit mijn doel om in de IndyCar Series te racen", vertelde Ringel. "Ik heb altijd al naar de Formule 1 gewild en de GP3 Series vormt voor mij nu een logische opstap daar naartoe. Jay (Howard, Brits IndyCar-coureur, red.) pushte me om naar Engeland te verhuizen om in de GP3 te gaan racen. Atech is voor mij zonder twijfel de beste keus."

"Ze hebben een geweldige auto, het team gaat erg professioneel te werk en het is erg prettig werken met de engineers en monteurs. Ik heb nog geen verwachtingen van mijn eerste races, want ik ben natuurlijk nog erg onervaren. Ik wil gewoon de auto leren kennen, de circuits en natuurlijk op de best mogelijke manier samenwerken met de teamleden."
