Mitch Evans heeft op de eerste dag van de GP3-test op het Circuit de Catalunya de snelste tijd genoteerd. De Nieuw-Zeelander van MW Arden klokte een 1:38.609 en dat was een tiende sneller dan Tio Ellinas namens Marussia Manor Racing.

Daniel Abt completeert de top drie. Robert Cregan, Tom Blomqvist, Fabiano Machado, Mitch Evans en Kevin Ceccon spinden de grindbak in en veroorzaakten rode vlaggen. Carmen Joda eindigde op haar eerste testdag voor Ocean Racing als hekkensluiter.
