Trident Racing legt 17-jarige Antonio Spavone vast voor 2012

Het team van Trident Racing heeft de eerder bevestigde Vicky Piria gekoppeld aan Antonio Spavone. Spavone, een 17-jarige Italiaan, was vorig jaar actief in het Formule Abarth-kampioenschap en reed dit jaar al wat races in de Auto GP.

Natuurlijk ben ik ongelooflijk blij met deze kans in een belangrijke serie als de GP3, stamelt Spavone. Na de eerste test op Estoril kreeg de gehoopte en benodigde steun vorm. Ik was zeer tevreden met mijn optreden voor Trident in Portugal en het was niet meer dan logisch om voltijds bij dit team aan de slag te gaan. Ik heb genoeg werk voor de boeg en ik sta tegenover meer ervaren rijders. Mijn doel is om zo snel mogelijk in de top tien te belanden. Ik hoop elk raceweekend te groeien en in de tweede helft van het seizoen voor punten te knokken.
