Alice Powell bemachtigt stoeltje bij Status GP

Alice Powell is na Carmen Jorda en Vicky Piria de derde vrouwelijke coureur die dit jaar haar opwachting maakt in de GP3 Series. Powell, een 19-jarige Britse, won in 2010 de Formule Renault BARC-titel en waagt nu de stap naar de GP3 bij Status GP. Dat team heeft de line-up voor komend seizoen nu rond, met ook Marlon Stockinger en Kitaro Sakurai al aan boord.

"Ik ben verguld om met Status GP toe te treden tot de wereld van de internationale autosport. Ik vond de GP3-auto vanaf het eerste moment een prettige machine en ik heb vertrouwen dat we samen sterke resultaten neer zullen zetten. Het is een kwestie van de circuits en de serie leren kennen voor mij dit jaar, maar gelukkig is het team zeer ervaren en we werken goed samen", aldus Powell.
