Evans en Niederhauser triomferen in Valencia

Mitch Evans deed eerder in het weekend in Valencia in de GP3 al wat Fernando Alonso op zondag in de Formule 1 zou doen. De Nieuw-Zeelander van MW Arden was de eerste die voor de tweede keer in 2012 een race op zijn naam wist te schrijven.

Evans was in de eerste wedstrijd de sterkste. Hij domineerde vanaf pole position en zijn koppositie kwam geen moment in het geding. Titelconcurrent Aaro Vainio en teamgenoot David Fumanelli mochten met Evans mee naar het podium.

De tweede race van het weekend leverde wel weer een nieuwe winnaar op. Patric Niederhauser van Jenzer Motorsport triomfeerde voor het eerst dit jaar. Daniel Abt finishte binnen een seconde als tweede. De laatste trede op het podium was voor Tio Ellinas.
