Ellinas verzaakt in Hongarije, spanning helemaal terug

De strijd om de titel in de GP3 is nog lang niet gestreden. Tio Ellinas had een aardige voorsprong opgebouwd, maar die verdween in Hongarije als sneeuw voor de zon. De Cyprioot oogstte geen enkel punt. Facu Regalia naderde hem tot op één puntje.

Ellinas staat op 91 punten, Regalia heeft 90 punten. Daarachter staat een trio met 75 punten, waaronder de winnaar van de hoofdrace op de Hungaroring, Aaro Vainio. De Fin, Jack Harvey en Kevin Korjus zijn ook nog niet uitgeschakeld met nog drie weekenden te gaan.

Robert Visoiu schreef de sprintrace op zijn naam en dat was al de tweede keer dit seizoen. De Roemeen van MW Arden hield teamgenoot Carlos Sainz junior achter zich. Het gat bedroeg aan de finish wel meer dan vier seconden. Korjus completeerde het podium.
