Power verkleint achterstand met winst

Will Power heeft de ABC Supply 500 op de Pocono Raceway op zijn naam geschreven. De Australiër won voor Mikhail Aleshin en Ryan-Hunter Reay. Kampioenschapleider Simon Pagenaud crashte, waardoor Power de Fransman tot op twintig punten genaderd is.

"De auto was in de openingsfase heel lastig te besturen, ik had er echt mijn handen vol aan", begint Power. "We waren de hele tijd aan het aanpassen en in de tweede helft van de race voelde de wagen geweldig aan. We dichten het gat naar Simon beetje bij beetje. We doen ons best en geven alles, want we willen dolgraag het kampioenschap winnen."

Alexander Rossi, Charlie Kimball en Helio Castroneves raakten betrokken bij een incident in de pitstraat. Rossi reed weg om de pits te verlaten en maakte contact met Kimball. De auto van de Indy 500-winnaar werd gelanceerd en landde bovenop Castroneves, die van geluk mag spreken dat hij niets aan het voorval overhield.
