Munoz completeert Indy 500 line-up Andretti

Andretti Autosport schrijft zes auto's in voor de Indy 500 van 2018. De Amerikaanse renstal stelt de extra wagen beschikbaar voor Carlos Munoz. Hij voegt zich bij Alexander Rossi, Marco Andretti, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Zach Veach en Stefan Wilson. Munoz maakte in 2013 in de Indy 500 zijn IndyCar-debuut bij Andretti Autosport. De Colombiaan finishte als tweede, iets dat hij in 2016 herhaalde.

Munoz: "Ik ben heel blij om weer onderdeel uit te maken van Andretti Autosport. Dit team voelt al vanaf de eerste dag als een familie aan voor mij. We zijn twee keer dicht bij de zege in de Indy 500 geweest, dus het doet me deugd dat we weer de krachten bundelen voor dat evenement en hopelijk behalen we wederom een mooi resultaat."

"Ik ben Michael Andretti en J-F Thormann dankbaar voor hun vertrouwen in mij en voor de auto die ze voor de Indy 500 ter beschikking stellen. Ik ben ook opgewonden om met mijn teamgenoten samen te werken en ik denk dat we goed met elkaar op kunnen schieten. We zijn met zijn zessen en hopelijk hebben we een sterk pakket met de nieuwe aero kits. Ik kijk ernaar uit."
