Ericsson's doel is het het winnen van in ieder geval één race

Marcus Ericsson gelooft dat hij de mogelijkheid heeft om races te winnen in zijn eerste IndyCar-seizoen. Er was in 2019 bij het Formule 1-team van Sauber geen plek voor de Zweed en daarom gaat hij dit seizoen zijn geluk beproeven in de IndyCar in het Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports-team. Hij heeft zoals gezegd hoge doelen gesteld.

"Het winnen van een race is natuurlijk het doel en dat moet ook gebeuren. Ik heb ontzettend veel respect voor de grote mannen in deze klasse, die hier al lang rijden en die al ervaren hebben hoe het is om te racen op dit soort circuits en in deze type auto's."

"Dus ik weet dat het een grote uitdaging voor me gaat worden, maar ik heb een geweldig team achter me staan. Arrow zal zijn betrokkenheid gaan uitbreiden en dat zal het team helpen bij het zetten van de volgende stap. Dus ik heb echt het gevoel dat we de mogelijkheid hebben om te winnen."

"Je moet altijd hoge doelen stellen wanneer je iets wilt bereiken en dat persoonlijke doel heb ik gesteld. Ik wil dit jaar een race winnen en ik wil zoveel mogelijk vooraan meestrijden. Het wordt een lastig doel om te bereiken, maar het is realiseerbaar."

      Ik denk dat Alonso per direct stopt met zijn cariere. Begrijp me niet verkeerd hoor. Ik vind dat hij echt een super seizoen achter de rug heeft... maar Alonso wetende dat hij aardig neerbuigend was naar achterhoede coureurs, gaat Alonso er minstens een half jaar niet goed van slapen. Des te leuker ik zo'n overwinning zou gaan vinden!
