Daly voltooit volledig Amerikaans Andretti Autosport bij Indy 500

Andretti Autosport heeft ook het laatste stoeltje binnen het team voor de Indianapolis 500 vergeven. Conor Daly sluit op 26 mei bij het team van Michael Andretti aan en daarmee voltooit hij een volledig Amerikaanse line-up.

Daly gaat bij Andretti Autosport deelnemen aan zijn zesde Indy 500. De voormalig GP3-coureur deed in 2013 voor het eerst mee en behaalde in 2018 zijn beste resultaat door 21e te worden namens Dale Coyne Racing. Bij Andretti Autosport wordt Daly de teamgenoot van voormalig winnaars Alexander Rossi en Ryan Hunter-Reay. Ook Zach Veach en Marco Andretti komen namens het team in actie op Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Trots overheerst bij Daly na de bekendmaking dat hij namens Andretti Autosport de Indy 500 mag rijden. "Ik had niet trotser kunnen zijn dat ik de Air Force voor het tweede jaar op rij mag vertegenwoordigen tijdens de Indy 500. Zonder de inzet van iedereen bij Andretti Autosport om dit programma succesvol te laten zijn, had ik hier niet gestaan. Het betekent veel voor me om de toewijding van de Air Force richting mij te zien en ook om de kans te hebben om te mogen proberen de grootste race ter wereld te winnen."
