Even voorstellen: Alle concurrenten van Rinus VeeKay op een rij (1/2)

Naast het Formule 1-geweld in Imola, is er dit weekend de start van het IndyCar-seizoen op Barber Motorsport Park. Voor de Nederlandse autosportliefhebber extra interessant door het bijzijn van Rinus 'VeeKay' van Kalmthout. De 20-jarige Hoofddorper begint in Birmingham, in de staat Alabama, aan zijn tweede seizoen in de hoogste Amerikaanse autosportklasse.

Op de deelnemerslijst van de IndyCars is Romain Grosjean de opvallendste naam. De voormalig F1-coureur maakt dit seizoen zijn debuut. Grosjean zal alleen te bewonderen zijn op de road courses. Op ovals rijden vindt de Fransman iets te gevaarlijk. Behalve Grosjean zijn er meerde oudgedienden uit de Formule 1. De bekenste is daarvan Juan-Pablo Montoya.

Opvallend bij de inschrijvingen is de relatief hoge leeftijd van veel rijders. Dat leeftijd geen rol hoeft te spelen, heeft regerend en zesvoudig kampioen Scott Dixon bewezen. Met zijn 40 jaar is de Nieuw-Zeelander voor 2021 the man to beat.

Simona de Silvestro is de enige vrouwelijke coureur die dit seizoen in actie komt. De Zwitserse zal alleen te zien tijdens de Indy 500.

Alleen Rinus was geen Indy-Lights kampioen. Dat was Oliver Askew. Rinus was 2e. ;)

@moderators/redactie. Ik weet niet of het aan mijn telefoon ligt, maar de lay-out van dit lijstje is all over the place. Waar bij deel 2/2 heel mooi alles in een vakje staat wat mooi op elkaar aansluit, is het hier zodanig mis gegaan dat de vakjes allemaal apart staan met de melding "undifined" waar de daadwerkelijke tekst vaak buiten valt, dit afgewisseld met wat aparte strepen die (neem ik aan) normaal alles bij elkaar hoort te houden.
Voor de verdere rest zeker wel een heel interessant lijstje.

Ik hoop dat ik met mijn crappy uitleg een beetje beeld geeft van wat ik bedoel.

Ohja, voor ik het zou vergeten. Ik heb de desktop versie op mijn telefoon geprobeerd, en daar klopt alles wel
