Sebastien Bourdais stapt over naar Olympique Lyon

De Superleague Formula-organisatie heeft vandaag bekend gemaakt dat Sebastien Bourdais komend seizoen voor Olympique Lyonnais zal rijden. De Fransman stapte halverwege 2009 in bij Sevilla FC, maar zegt deze club nu vaarwel.

Bourdais werd midden 2009 ontslagen uit de Formule 1 en ging daarna aan de slag in de Superleague Formula bij Sevilla FC. Tijdens zijn debuutweekend won Bourdais meteen de Super Final in Estoril en pakte daarnaast nog een overwinning in Monza en podiumplaatsen in Jarama.

Voor het komende seizoen, dat dit weekend al van start gaat, stapt Bourdais over naar Olympique Lyonnais. "Nadat ik vorig jaar enkele races kon rijden in de Superleague wilde ik dit jaar echt doorgaan in deze klasse. De auto's bieden veel rijplezier door de vele downforce en de krachtige V12-motor. Ik ben erg blij dat ik deel mag uitmaken van de meest succesvolle Franse club van de laatste jaren", aldus Bourdais.

Op dit moment zitten alleen Sporting Portugal, Flamengo en Atletico Madrid nog zonder coureurs.
