Van der Drift pakt 100.000 euro met zege in Super Final

Chris van der Drift heeft een wederom goed weekend op alweer een goede manier afgesloten. De Nederlandse Nieuw-Zeelander was in de Super Final de sterkste en neemt zo de 100.000 euro mee naar huis voor Olympiacos.

Van der Drift maakte een sensationeel goede start toen de lichten uitgingen voor de Super Final. Yelmer Buurman (AC Milan) en Tristan Gommendy (Galatasaray), die van de eerste rij mochten vertrekken, kenden een slechte start en vielen beiden terug. Davide Rigon kwam in de eerste bocht nog dichtbij Van der Drift, maar de Nederlandse Nieuw-Zeelander wist Rigon van zich af te houden.

Uiteindelijk domineerde Van der Drift de vijf ronden tellende race en eindigde hij 5,8 seconden voor Rigon van RSC Anderlecht. Yelmer Buurman pakte alsnog de derde positie, gevolgd door Gommendy, Max Wissel (FC Basel) en Franck Perera, die bij de start niet wegkwam.
