Jaap van Lagen vervangt Montagny bij Bordeaux in Zolder

Jaap van Lagen zal vandaag zijn eerste meters in een Superleague Formula-bolide rijden. De Nederlander is namelijk in Zolder de vervanger van Franck Montagny bij Girondins de Bordeaux. De Fransman is dit weekend verhinderd, maar rijdt wel de resterende weekenden weer.

Van Lagen, die eerder onder andere in het WTCC in actie kwam en in 2007 voor het laatst een formulewagen bestuurde, werd gisteren pas gebeld met de mededeling dat hij dit weekend zou mogen rijden. "Ik werd inderdaad afgelopen donderdag uit het niets gebeld", zei Van Lagen.

"Ik kan mezelf niet al te hoge doelen stellen voor dit weekend, maar het is wel een voordeel dat ik het circuit al ken. Het is geweldig dat ik de kans krijg om met deze dikke auto van 750 pk te mogen rijden! Zoveel coureurs staan erom te springen en ik wordt zomaar uit het niets gebeld."

Hiermee komt het aantal Nederlandse deelnemers in Zolder op 4. Naast Van Lagen rijden namelijk ook Yelmer Buurman, Chris van der Drift en Robert Doornbos mee in de Superleague Formula.
